If you haven’t checked out Chatroulette yet then you may be missing out on something that’s at least worth checking out once in your life just for the hell of it. To me the launch of this service feels like a real zeitgeist moment. Since we humans started making and watching moving pictures, we’ve been moving slowly towards this point in time, where people can just connect via a live link to anyone else, anywhere in the world. Chatroulette does it in such a strangely sublime and truly 21st century kind of way that to me it seems like a bit of a turning point. It’s not just connecting with someone you know, but with random strangers who you choose (or choose not) to engage with. If you don’t like who you find on screen, just *next* them. Weird and crazy and utterly bizarre.
