I met Emily Forbes, founder and CEO of Seenit recently. It’s one of the coolest video apps I’ve seen around for collaborative film-making.
The app allows users to create video films and campaigns by empowering their colleagues to become a roving video crew, shooting and uploading smart-phone footage, based on a guided shot list. Whoever is managing the project will set up the shot list and guide for participants, and then they can go out, shoot and upload on the fly. All the clips are encoded and sent back to the campaign manager’s online repository, where they can select and edit films, ready for sharing.
The great thing about this approach is that it’s not just about ‘UGC’. It’s about structure and workflow – and planning. All essential components of a successful video project!
